Als release 9
Courtesy Montreal Gazette:
The Alouettes announced the release of nine players late Wednesday: receivers Frantz Hardy and Kevin Marion; guard Robbie Powell; offensive-tackle Chris Rutledge; linebackers Jay Staggs and Jamaine Winborne; defensive-tackle Joshua Thompson; rush-end Rodney Hardeway and cornerback Blue Adams.
They also placed three 2009 draft choices on the retired list – rush-end Nickolas Morin-Soucy; fullback Benoit Boulanger and guard Matt Singer. Morin-Soucy suffered a torn knee ligament against the Bombers, while Boulanger is expected to return to Université de Sherbrooke. By retiring the draft picks, the Als avoid the possibility of another team claiming and signing them. Montreal did this last season, taking fullback Mike Giffin from the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.
