Strong Canadian content is the recipe for success in the CFL and the Toronto Argonauts solidified their homegrown talent base on Wednesday.
The Argonauts extended the contracts of wide receiver Andre Talbot, running back Bryan Crawford and slotback Chad Rempel through 2010 and linebacker Ray Fontaine was signed through to 2009.
Talbot set single-season career-highs last season, catching 53 passes for 803 yards and six touchdowns. He was the second-leading Canadian receiver in the East Division behind Montreal’s Ben Cahoon and was the top receiver on the Argos for parts of the regular season before finishing second in total yards to teammate Arland Bruce III. Talbot was taken in the 5th Round (34th Overall) in the 2001 CFL Draft.
