Diane Clemons admits she likes to kid her husband about his popularity.
She has a lot of material to work with. Not only is Michael Clemons one of the most popular players to play in the Canadian Football League, he just became one of the most treasured members of this country’s football hall of fame.
Nicknamed Pinball for his penchant for bouncing off would-be tacklers, Clemons was one of four former players and a builder named to one of the most illustrious classes of inductees among the 234 who have busts permanently on display at the Jackson Street shrine.
Joining Clemons for the Sept. 18-20 official induction ceremonies will be Doug Flutie (former B.C. Lion, Calgary and Toronto quarterback and six-time league all-star), Mike Pringle (former Edmonton, Sacramento, Baltimore and Montreal running back and seven-time all-star), Tom Shepherd (longtime Saskat- chewan Roughrider volunteer inducted into the builder category) and John Bonk (former Hamilton and Winnipeg centre and four-time league all-star).
