Bombers interested in Dickenson?

Maybe it’s the lingering sting of a Grey Cup loss that featured a rookie quarterback making his first professional start. Or, perhaps, it’s simply the Winnipeg Blue Bombers’ fascination with Dave Dickenson’s juicy resume.
But after initially offering a lukewarm response to the prospect of signing the veteran pivot when the issue was first broached following his release by the B.C. Lions in late November — GM Brendan Taman said the club would do “their due diligence” on Dickenson’s concussion problems — the organization is now prepared to be a serious player.

“This isn’t one of those deals where we put our name in the hat just to say we did,” Taman said Thursday. “I spoke to his agent just before Christmas and I told him, ‘If Dave’s going to play, don’t do anything before you talk to us.’
