The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have locked up quarterback Kevin Glenn.

The CFL team announced Thursday it has signed Glenn to a contract extension. Terms weren’t available.

”A lot of stuff came into play,” Glenn said in a statement regarding his decision to remain with the Bombers. ”One of the big things is you want to be comfortable wherever you’re playing.

”The grass is not always greener on the other side. Plus you want to play where you are wanted. We’ve also got a pretty good nucleus of guys coming back. This will be the first time I’ve played with the same guys on offence without a lot of new faces coming in. Success comes from continuity and familiarity.”

Glenn enjoyed a stellar 2007 campaign. He led the CFL in passing yards (5,114), completions (388) and attempts (621) in guiding the Blue Bombers to second spot in the East Division standings. However, his season ended in the conference final when he sustained a broken left arm in Winnipeg’s 19-9 road win over the Toronto Argonauts.
