Three more import players have been added to the Calgary Stampeders roster in time for training camp.

And one of them has a famous last name, although not necessarily for the right reasons.

Eddie Montgomery, a five-foot-10, 170-pound receiver, is the younger brother of troubled former U.S sprint star Tim Montgomery, who was sentenced earlier this month to 46 months in prison for his role in a money-laundering scheme, and is facing new charges after being arrested on charges of dealing heroin.

Eddie Montgomery, 25, played his college ball at Saint Augustine’s College in North Carolina, where he scored 12 touchdowns in his senior season.

Defensive end Juwan Simpson comes to Calgary after a college career at Alabama and having attended the Green Bay Packers training camp last season.

“Juwan has the size (six foot three, 235 pounds) and athleticism to be utilized at linebacker or defensive end,” said Stamps coach and GM John Hufnagel of the 23-year-old Simpson. “When we had our free-agent camp in Florida, we worked him out at both and he looked good at both. But when he comes to camp, he’ll play end.”
