Alexia Calvillo, wife of Montreal Alouettes’ quarterback Anthony Calvillo, has been diagnosed with a B-cell lymphoma.

Doctors confirmed the diagnosis Thursday and she will begin chemotherapy treatments immediately, followed by radiotherapy. It is a non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma which is treatable.

”We would like to thank all fans who have sent in messages and prayers,” said Anthony Calvillo, who has taken a leave of absence to be with his family. ”We remain optimistic and want to thank everyone for their respect.”
