CFL DIGEST EXCLUSIVE: Well ‘Red’ (July 22)

Snake In the Grass?
So it’s the Bombers this week. Ryan Dinwiddie starts. Coach Berry’s blood pressure no doubt through the roof. Did I hear Kelly Malveaux might move up to linebacker?
Easy win and then bring on the Riders right? Not so fast Calgary fans. This one has me nervous. 0-5? Hard to imagine. The Blue & Gold showed some fight in their loss in Vancouver last week, and a return to the pressure cooker that will be CanadInns will undoubtedly see them notch ‘er up further.
Calgary is certainly capable of dominating this game if they show up, but it’s that “if” that’s giving me butterflies this week.
All is rosy in Cowtown these days as the offence continues to steamroll, and the play of Calgary’d DB’s appears to have caught up to that of the surprising front seven. Henry Burris and Joffrey Reynolds are ripping things up at an all-star pace, as is receiver Ken-yon Rambo, who’s on pace for a career year.
Trouble is, the talk of the town is the home-and-home with the Grey Cup champs - everyone here has an office mate or next door neighbour who’s been flaunting their championship bunnyhug since Christmas, and I can’t help but wonder if the players might be looking past Dinwiddie’s winless crew, too.
I still say Stamps by a field goal, but my heart spots my boys 3 points in every game.
