The Montreal Alouettes announced today that Marcel Desjardins has returned to the Alouettes as the team’s assistant general manager.

“I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to come back to the organization with which I’ve had so much success,” said Marcel Desjardins. “I am confident that teaming up with Jim Popp once again will lead to continuing that success for the club.”

Desjardins began his career in Montreal as Assistant Director of Football Operations in April 1999 before being promoted to Assistant General Manager in 2002, the year the Alouettes won the Grey Cup. He accepted the General Manager position with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in August 2006.
