Dinwiddie remains a bomber but faces challenges
Courtesy Winnipeg Free Press:
Ryan Dinwiddie has finally put his name on a new Winnipeg Blue Bomber contract — just as he said he would a month ago — but now comes the next step in his pursuit of regular work as a CFL quarterback:
Pushing Kevin Glenn for the top job AND holding off the challenges of those who will be listed below him on the depth chart.
Interestingly, at the same time the Bombers were making Dinwiddie’s return official on Monday they were also readying to step up their contact with former Virginia Tech star Bryan Randall, a QB who has been on their radar screen for eons and whose contract with the All-American Football League became void when that loop went belly up last week.
Meanwhile, Bomber GM Brendan Taman did have an informal chat with Hamilton Tiger-Cats GM Bob O’Billovich over the weekend at the CFL Evaluation camp about a possible deal for Timmy Chang, but that trade is on the backburner as the club pursues Randall.
