Ebell vows to be back

For Tyler Ebell, the psychological pain is a lot harder to deal with than the physical pain of a ruptured Achilles tendon.

One reason is that the import running back says there was no pain associated with the injury that ended his first season as a Toronto Argonaut before it began.

“When I went down, it didn’t really hurt at all so I didn’t think I’d done much to it. Maybe a strain or something,” Ebell said yesterday.

The former Edmonton Eskimo stood out like, well, a sore Achilles tendon during yesterday’s Toronto Argonauts fan day at the University of Toronto Mississauga.

While his healthier teammates roamed around the practice field posing for pictures and signing autographs, Ebell hobbled around on crutches trying to soak up some of the adoration from more than 2,000 Argo nuts.
