Flick is a “onesie” kind of guy

One year ago, no way in the world D.J. Flick knew what a “onesie” was.
Now the Saskatchewan Roughriders slotback can use “onesie” in a sentence, but only when asked about the wardrobe worn by his eight-month-old twin sons, Lincoln and Julius.
“They had Riders stuff before they were born: Things with the number and ‘Flick’ on the back,” said their father. “They’ve got a lot of green, boy! They don’t have jerseys, but they have little shirts and onesies, with names and numbers on the backs.”
For any non-parents reading this, a “onesie” is a snap-on outfit that babies wear, which allows easy access for the diaper-changer. Flick knows all about those things because that’s how he spent much of his CFL offseason.
Immediately after the Roughriders won the 2007 Grey Cup by defeating the Winnipeg Blue Bombers 23-19 in Toronto on Nov. 25, Flick raced home to Montgomery, Pa., to be with his wife Mandy and their two children.
“I went back to Pennsylvania and played daddy for a while,” said Flick. “I was very happy to stay home, especially with the offseason being much shorter than I’m used to.
