Glenn frustrated with contract negotiations

THIS isn’t at all how Kevin Glenn imagined things would unfold: it’s already March and the Winnipeg Blue Bomber quarterback — coming off a career year — isn’t feeling a lot of love in contract negotiations with the club.
In fact, if things don’t heat up considerably in the next three months before the opening of training camp, it’s a given Glenn will play out the option year of his current deal and become a free agent in February 2009.
“You can’t put a gun to somebody’s head and make them do something,” said Glenn Tuesday from Detroit. “I’ve already made it clear that if it gets to camp without a deal done then I’ll play it out. If that’s how they want to take the situation then it is what it is.
“I honestly think this should have been done already, but I’m not the GM or the president or the person who makes the final decisions. There’s other guys in this league who didn’t have this type of year and they still got things done.”
Glenn led the CFL in 2007 with 5,114 passing yards, threw for 25 TDs and posted a 93.2 QB-efficiency rating — fifth-best among starters. He was the East Division’s all-star QB and Most Outstanding Player nominee, but missed the Grey Cup after breaking his left arm in the division final win over the Toronto Argonauts.
