3 Burning Questions leading up to the 2009 Season

-Will Casey Printers be employed by a CFL team this season?

The crew at the Digest believe he will be. When? Who knows? The last couple years have been a horrible nightmare for Printers. Publicly cut on TV by the Kansas City Chiefs to falling flat on his face in Hamilton. It’s been tough to watch. Casey has since fired agent Jason Medlock recently and is now representing himself. Most recent reports seem to think Casey is interested in playing with the Lions. The question is – do the Lions want the services of Mr. Printers? The bottom line is If Printers can get his ego in check he might be a great signing for a team at the right price. If he continues to be the egomaniac fans have seen over the last couple years he will most likely rot on the unemployment line. I guess if it doesn’t work out in football Casey can always fall back on his backup plan, motivational speaker(http://www.caseyprintersinc.com/).

Verdict: Injuries mid-season will force a team to go after Printers Services.

Are the Stamps going to be as strong as in 2008?

You better believe it. Calgary for the most part has been quiet this off-season not making any major adjustments. All the usual suspects will be on the roster in 2009 including Burris, Lewis, Reynolds, and Copeland. Nik Lewis might be the most hated player in the CFL but is easily one best. Hank finally proved he can win the big game and Reynolds does his talking on the field. The sky is the limit for what the Stampeders can accomplish in 2009. Hufnagel has a year under his belt and should continue to prove why he is a outstanding CFL coach. In our mind the Stamps have to be the front runners in the always strong Western Division.

Verdict: Stamps will host the Western Final for the 2nd straight season.

Who will be the QB in Saskatchewan?

Darian Durant? Steven Jyles? Dalton Bell? We have no idea. The front runner for the job Darian Durant showed some glimpses last season but after being injured never really recovered. Were told Steven Jyles always looks great in practice and the coaches seem to love his arm. But in real time he seems to be a nightmare. Diehard rider fans are saying Dalton Bell is going to be the savior. He has a great resume but until he plays a down all bets are off as far as we are concerned. The fact is the Riders have all the components to be an explosive team on offense this year with the only question mark being at quarterback.

Verdrict: Darian Durant is under centre for the Riders in 09.
