The B.C. Lions announced on Thursday that import defensive lineman Aaron Hunt has agreed to terms on a contract extension. In keeping with club policy, terms of the deal were not released.

“Extending Aaron’s time a Lion was a priority for our club this off-season,” said general manager and head coach Wally Buono. “His ability as an interior defensive lineman is something we value tremendously and he’s an integral part of our pass rush and overall defensive success the past two seasons.”

Hunt posted another solid season in 2007 after his Outstanding Rookie performance in 2006. In addition to tripling his tackles total with a career-high mark of 38, Hunt also recorded eight sacks and earned a second straight West Division All-Star spot. He also led all B.C. linemen with 10 pass knockdowns in the regular season and another in the West Final.
