The Edmonton Eskimos have called a news conference this morning to announce the return of quarterback Jason Maas to the Green and Gold.

The Montreal Alouettes granted Maas his outright release last week, clearing the way for the happy homecoming.

“I’m really excited — believe me,” Maas said Tuesday night from his home in Sherwood Park. “My family is here. I have so many friends here. And I love the organization.

“I can’t get wait to started on the journey to win another Grey Cup with the Edmonton Eskimos.”
