Miles talks about re-joining the Tiger-cats

When he was awoken from a deep sleep by a phone call on that March morning back in 2003 telling him he’d been traded for Joe Montford, Tony Miles seriously thought he was dreaming. Partly because he’d been moved to the hated Argos. But just as much by the shock he’d been moved at all.
“It hurt,” says the 29-year-old receiver. “It’s not that they gave up on me. It’s just that they didn’t want me enough to keep me.”
So it might be seen as a bit of a surprise when he was coming up for free agency, it was Miles who made the first call to the Ticats looking to rekindle their relationship.
“I was just trying to see if they needed a veteran presence in their receiving corps,” he explains.
As questions with obvious answers go, he may as well have asked if they’d like to have buckets of hundred-dollar bills showered on them as they had their feet massaged by Hooters girls. For two seasons, this team hasn’t scared anyone with a deep ball. A gaggle of receivers with Vaseline on their hands didn’t help. A quarterback with a wonky arm hurt. And a lack of consistency — the Ticats cut 17 receivers between the start of training camp and the end of a 3-15 season — really wasn’t helpful.
