Reggie Hunt and Eddie Davis ready to test free agency market

Defensive back Eddie Davis and linebacker Reggie Hunt, two of the nine Saskatchewan Roughriders whose contracts expire tonight, appear headed for the CFL’s free-agent market. “It’s still waiting to be seen,” Davis said Thursday from his offseason home in Calgary. “It hasn’t happened yet. It’s still in process. “Right now I’m just waiting to get something done. It’s still a good possibility. Nothing’s been signed yet. We’ve been talking to Saskatchewan, having good conversations with them, so we’ll go from there.”
Davis and Hunt are represented by Paul Sheehy, the agent who negotiated a new contract for wideout Matt Dominguez, a potential free agent who re-signed with Saskatchewan on Wednesday. Dominguez was the fourth potential free agent to re-sign with Saskatchewan, joining tailback Wes Cates, defensive tackle Marcus Adams and linebacker Dustin Cherniawski.
“I’ve had several productive chats with (Roughriders general manager) Eric Tillman, though we have not come to a meeting of the minds on the best plan of action,” Sheehy said via-email when asked about Hunt’s status.
