Riders add pair to secondary

Saskatchewan Roughrider General Manager/Vice President of Football Operations Eric Tillman announced today they have signed import defensive backs Jeremy Burnett and Kevin Garrett to one-year plus an option contracts. Financial details of the signings were not released.
Burnett (6’1 – 200 lbs) was a two-year starting safety at South Florida. He played in a total of 32 games at South Florida and picked up 54 defensive tackles and two interceptions. Burnett signed as a free agent with the Minnesota Vikings last year and attended training camp before being released.
“Jeremy is a very physical athlete, who is versatile enough to play multiple positions, much like Sean Lucas,” stated Tillman. “We will bring him to camp with an open mind, and, based on his performance, see which position he best fits, be it safety, corner, halfback or the sam backer, which is, in reality, an extra defensive back
