Saskatchewan Roughrider General Manager/Vice President of Football Operations Eric Tillman announced today they have signed free agent defensive back Omarr Morgan to a one-year plus an option contract. They have also re-signed defensive back James Johnson to a new one-year plus an option contract. Financial details of the signings were not released.

Morgan spent seven years with the Roughrider before spending last season with the Edmonton Eskimos. In 138 career CFL games, the 31-year old has recorded 432 defensive tackles and 23 interceptions. He has been named a CFL all-star three times and a West Division all-start four times in his career. He was also named a CFLPA all-star in six consecutive seasons.

“Things happen in this business we call football, but it’s always nice when a player gets a chance to come back home,” stated Tillman. “After a lengthy visit with Omarr, I have no doubt that his heart is in Saskatchewan and we welcome him back with open arms.”
