The Saskatchewan Roughriders announced today they have signed import defensive backs Quinton Jones and James Patrick to one-year plus an option contracts. Financial details of the signings were not released.
“Both of these young men are quality defensive backs, and, as such, help us upgrade one of our top off-season priorities,” stated Tillman.
Jones (5’10 – 180 lbs) signed as a free agent with the San Diego Chargers in May of 2007. Prior to joining the Chargers, Jones played four seasons at Boise State. He spent his first two years as a running back/receiver before shifting to defensive back for his final two seasons. Jones also returned kicks and was named Boise State’s Special Teams Player of the Year in 2005.
