Riderville: Morgan happy to be back

The first day of Saskatchewan Roughriders’ training camp was Omarr Morgan’s favourite day of the year.
Until today. And tomorrow. And the day after that. And … you get the idea.
“I’m enjoying life; it’s like Christmas every day for me,” Morgan proclaimed Sunday after beginning his second tour of duty with the Riders. “It was kind of hard to leave. (Being back) is like a dream come true.”
Morgan spent seven productive seasons with Saskatchewan before joining the Edmonton Eskimos last year as a free agent. The three-time CFL all-star started 16 games at cornerback, leading the team in pass knockdowns (seven) while finishing third in defensive tackles (52) and adding two interceptions. After being released in the offseason — an apparent salary cap casualty — he elected to re-sign with the Riders.
“The game is fun but the business part of it is different,” he said. “Things didn’t go my way (in Edmonton) but I talked to (Riders GM Eric) Tillman and he gave me another opportunity to come here and play. I’m just blessed.”
