“Ringing” in the new year

The Saskatchewan Roughriders are planning to hold a dinner, even though a few meal tickets will be missing.
The 2007 Roughriders, who won the third Grey Cup in franchise history, will be honoured at the Dinner of Champions. The event is slated for May 30 at the Conexus Arts Centre, where players and staff are to receive Grey Cup rings.
Some of the most prominent members of the 2007 edition may not attend — such as quarterback Kerry Joseph (now of the Toronto Argonauts), linebacker Reggie Hunt (Montreal Alouettes) and defensive end Fred Perry (Edmonton Eskimos). Another notable departee is head coach Kent Austin, who resigned in January to become the offensive co-ordinator at his alma mater, the University of Mississippi.
