Taaffe staying with Cats
Courtesy the Spectator:
Charlie Taaffe remains the head coach of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats today and for the foreseeable future.
Ironically, Taaffe’s job with the Ticats is probably safer now than it was yesterday when the 57-year-old coach was the subject of several erroneous media reports indicating he had been hired as an assistant with West Virginia University.
Chalk it up to poor communications on the Cats’ part and shoddy journalism.
The furor began yesterday morning when the Charleston Daily Mail erroneously reported on its website that recently hired Mountaineers’ head coach Bill Stewart had “hired” Taaffe to become the team’s new offensive co-ordinator and quarterback’s coach.
