Times Changed for Semi Final Games
Courtesy TSN:
The CFL has changed the start times of the East and West Semi-Final games on Sunday, November 11, 2007.
The East Semi-Final in Winnipeg will be played at 1pm local (2pm ET) and the West Semi-Final in Saskatchewan will be played at 4pm local (5pm ET).
The time change has been made to accommodate strong public interest from fans in Manitoba to fully observe local Remembrance Day ceremonies. The CFL, the Winnipeg Football Club, the competing clubs, the CBC and RDS will also pay tribute to veterans on Remembrance Day through special game day ceremonies including representation of the Department of National Defence Colour Guard. As well, there will be a moment of silence observed prior to the playing of the Canadian national anthem and commemorative stickers featuring poppies will adorn all CFL players’ helmets.
”The CFL, its member clubs and our broadcast partners have great respect for our veterans and our troops across the world,” said CFL Commissioner Mark Cohon. ”Collectively we have all worked together to facilitate this time change to allow us to more appropriately pay tribute to our fallen troops.”
