Top pick signs with stamps

As Dimitri Tsoumpas was being subjected to his first official grilling as a member of the Calgary Stampeders on Thursday morning at McMahon Stadium, his stepdad was on the periphery, snapping pictures of his own.

It was a whirlwind morning for the family. Tsoumpas, his mom, Teresa, and his stepdad, Gord Willey, had arrived at the stadium early as Tsoumpas put his name on a rookie contract (two years plus an option), met with the media, met with coaches and headed to the Stamps store to pick up souvenir hats.

Then, Tsoumpas, a six-foot-four, 295-pound offensive lineman, was scheduled to fly out Thursday night to Salt Lake to attend his graduation ceremony this morning at Weber State University in Ogden, Utah, where he’ll get his degree in human performance.
